The first Friends event took place on Thursday
17th April, 2003.
We were lucky to have a beautiful sunny day and local families
enjoyed an afternoon on Clayton Vale.

Children and parents followed the Jolly Bunny
through the Vale, finding and drawing symbols along the
way and receiving a Cream Egg on completion of the route.
The bouncy castle was a big attraction and Topple the Tins
brought children and Dads together to practice their skills.
The Heaton Park donkeys called in to give rides, Clayton
Methodist Church's Stay and Play group painted faces and
Johnson Hewlett Scout Group's leaders brought along a Tombola
and Twopenny roll. Park Wardens helped children to make
Easter cards and badges and Manchester Dogs Home ran a Pick
the Dog game and sold soft toys. Stepping
out in Clayton and Newton Heath brought along
information boards and leaflets about Health Walks taking
in place in the area and there was a Tuck shop and a Raffle.
The Neighbourhood Wardens came along to mark mobile phones
with a Smart Water security system and the Ice cream and
Hot food vans were on site to provide sustenance for all.
By the end of the day we were all extremely hot and tired
but very happy with the way the afternoon had gone.
Thank you to all that attended, we hope
that you enjoyed The Jolly Bunny Hop as much as we did and
you will join us at our next event.
