The friends, in association with Manchester Leisure, held a Kite workshop where 'Ron the kiteman' showed local children (and adults) the finer points of building and flying Kites.
The sun shone and the children brought mum's and dad's, grandma's and granddad's along to the Vale. It cost 25p to make a kite and all the children were given a cool drink.
