Welcome to our web site, hope you enjoy your visit.
If you would like to volunteer your time to help with our work or would like to join our group, then come along to one of our meetings and become a part of a very enjoyable and worthwhile cause. Our meetings are bi-monthly from January on the second second Tuesday of the month commencing 10am at the Clayton Vale Centre
If you would like more information please email us on info@friendsofclaytonvale.org.uk or contact Manchester Leisure on 0161 223 8278. The work can be hard and the hours are sometimes long, people often ask us ‘Why do you do it’. The answer is easy, WE LOVE EVERY MINUTE.
We look forward to hearing from you.
The Friends of Clayton Vale were formed in January 2003 and since then we have worked tirelessly to improve the area, carrying out maintenance and clean up work. We have also organised several family events and in partnership with other groups put on environmental awareness days for local schools. We are helped and supported in our work by Manchester Leisure and Medlock Valley staff, East Manchester Neighbourhood Wardens and GMP officers.
About Clayton Vale
Clayton Vale is located in East Manchester close to the City of Manchester Stadium andis a green space of around 100 acres. It was reclaimed from land fill by ManchesterCity Council in the early 1980’s and forms a valley with the river Medlock runningalong its base.
Over the years Mother Nature has taken over and made the area into a beautiful haven forwildlife, which was designated a Local Nature Reserve in July 2006.There are numerous paths taking you on quiet ‘country’ walks, three small ponds and adipping pond, picnic areas and of course the River Medlock
Please take a look at our gallery to see photo’s of Clayton Vale, then come along andenjoy it’s beauty for yourself.
