The Friends of Clayton Vale were formed in January 2003 and since then we have worked tirelessly to improve the area, carrying out maintenance and clean up work. We have hosted numerous family events and in partnership with Manchester Leisure staff, put on environmental awareness, orienteering and team building sessions for local schools. All our members are CRB checked. We are helped and supported in all that we do by Manchester Leisure and Medlock Valley staff and GMP officers.

About Clayton Vale
Clayton Vale is located in East Manchester close to the City of Manchester Stadium andis a green space of around 100 acres. It was reclaimed from land fill by ManchesterCity Council in the early 1980’s and forms a valley with the river Medlock runningalong its base.
Over the years Mother Nature has taken over and made the area into a beautiful haven forwildlife, which was designated a Local Nature Reserve in July 2006.There are numerous paths taking you on quiet ‘country’ walks, three small ponds and adipping pond, picnic areas and of course the River Medlock
Please take a look at our gallery to see photo’s of Clayton Vale, then come along andenjoy it’s beauty for yourself.
