About this deal

I bought this book 1) because I wanted to get an introduction to modern witchcraft and 2) for the pretty cover. If all these rituals do is trick your brain to help you adapt to new and better paradigms, then that is magic! Although it does add a sentence here and there to say that you can wear what you want and look how you want it is geared towards a certain aesthetic and I feel maybe people who dont want to present themselves that way may not feel as welcomed by this book as others. Casting runes can supposedly tell you about your future, or at least symbolize deep truths that mere words can not reveal. Ich schätze die Menschen, denen das Buch nicht gefällt, sind oft "Wicca" und diesen fehlt dann die spirituelle "religiöse" Komponente.

A magical lifestyle guide for everything from powering up a stylish crystal to banishing terrible Tinder dates. Most of the times I don't make any sense, but that's what happens when I get too emotional with the books that I just read and/or are reading. If you would like to read another quirky book surrounding witches then I would recommend The Magic Book of Cookery by Danaan Elderhill. However, I've lately been troubled by the consumerist, fad aspect that lies on the flipside of that, and this book bends quite a bit in that direction at times.Although some spells deal with big topics such as letting go of a friendship, this book does help you to do just that but in an exciting way. I really like the sentiment, since so many women obsess over body image, and learning to do what you want with the body you’ve got is a great thing to do for yourself. Here’s the problem — Hands-On Chaos Magic devoted entire chapters to explaining how to properly use the techniques described in this spell. Maybe it is because I'm studying paganism and witchcraft as spiritual path that I just felt overall disappointed that this was not one of those books.

The perfect read for women who wish to embrace the power they have from within and transform it into personal purpose, truth and intention. I think it's great for its intended audience: baby witches in high school or college (hint: I wasn't there too long ago). The authors make it clear in the first couple chapters that they're not spiritually wiccan, nor are they pagans practicing witchcraft. To be clear: this is not a book to be used by actual magic practitioners (apparently there has been some upset in that community about the title of the book). It’s all in the name of empowerment, but it’s seriously defanged by the authors’ seeming to apologize for every line.

Keep in mind that anyone can view public collections - they may also appear in recommendations and other places. With humor, heart, and a hip modern sensibility, this charming guide dispenses witchy wisdom for the curious, the cynical, and anyone who could use a magical boost to get through the day. Writing down everything you like about yourself is still an important step towards improving your self-esteem.
