Welcome to our web site,

hope you enjoy your visit.

The Friends of Clayton Vale were formed in January 2003 and since then we have worked tirelessly to improve the area, carrying out maintenance and clean up work. We have hosted numerous family events and in partnership with Manchester Leisure staff, put on environmental awareness, orienteering and team building sessions for local schools.  All our members are CRB checked.  We are helped and supported in all that we do by Manchester Leisure and Medlock Valley staff and GMP officers.

About Clayton Vale

Clayton Vale is located in East Manchester close to the City of Manchester Stadium and is a green space of around 100 acres.  It was reclaimed from land fill by Manchester City Council in the early 1980’s and forms a valley with the river Medlock running along its base.

Over the years Mother Nature has taken over and made the area into a beautiful haven for wildlife, which was designated a Local Nature Reserve in July 2006. There are numerous paths taking you on quiet ‘country’ walks, three small ponds and a dipping pond, picnic areas and of course the River Medlock

Please take a look at our gallery to see photo’s of Clayton Vale, then come along and enjoy it’s beauty for yourself.
